Haedford and Tuam are located eight miles from Healy's Cottage, however, in the opposite direction of one another. So take your pick! Both towns consist of a number of different banks, a Post Office, a range of supermarkets, garages and fishing tackle suppliers. There are a range of traditional bars and restaurants from which you can choose in both towns, many of which have regular seesions of traditional Irish music.
 
Cong
Why not visit Cong village, the home of John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara. While you're there check out the world famous Ashford Castle and take a boat trip along the shores of Loughmask and Lough Corrib. Cong offers a strem of historic places of interest, which will give you an ancient feel of Irish life in the West of Ireland. 
 
Galway City (City of the Tribes)
Why not discover and explore the famous city of Galway? Galway city has seen remarkable growth over the past number of years; however, it has never lost its charm, sincerity and most of all, its cultural history, which attract so many visitors year after year. Galway city could be deemed "the city that never sleeps", as it hosts a range of festivals and activities especially around the summer months, which are sure to keep you occupied. So put Galway city in your diary and don't forget to drop into the various Irish pubs along Galway's medievel streets for a pint or two of the black stuff.
